Collaboration Agreement between RQRA and Académie Saint-Bernard: Improving the Quality of Residences for Seniors

Improving the Quality of Residences for Seniors

The Regroupement Québécois des Résidences pour Aînés (RQRA) and Académie Saint-Bernard have joined forces to create an environment where the safety and well-being of seniors are paramount.

RQRA: Committed to the well-being of seniors

L'Académie Saint-Bernard: Innovation for Safety

At RQRA, we firmly believe that every seniors' facility, regardless of size or location, plays a vital role in residents' quality of life. As a non-profit organization, RQRA resolutely defends the interests of Quebec's private seniors' residences. Its mission is to foster a continuum of improvement to create an environment where aging is synonymous with quality, and where each individual receives the care and attention they deserve.

At Académie Saint-Bernard, our vision is one of leadership in online resuscitation and first aid training. We are committed to constant innovation, developing user-friendly tools that are accessible to all, and working to build a safer future. Our mission is to pass on these vital skills to a wide audience through innovative, user-friendly learning methods, empowering everyone to master these life-saving gestures.

Action-oriented collaboration

By joining forces, RQRA and Académie Saint-Bernard are actively contributing to the realization of a common vision: to offer a safe environment within seniors' residences, where each individual can benefit from quality care and assistance adapted to his or her needs.

This collaboration represents a strong commitment to the well-being of seniors, underlining the importance of ongoing training and privileged access to quality resources to ensure a better future for our elders, invaluable players in our society.

Services offered by Académie Saint-Bernard

Académie Saint-Bernard offers a specific training program, meeting the standards set by the Ministère de la santé et des services sociaux, entitled "Secourisme - Niveau Intermédiaire (16h) - Conforme à la norme CSA Z1210-17". This training is specially designed for home care attendants working in private seniors' residences. As of June 1, 2023, the "Règlement sur la certification des résidences privées pour aînés" requires all personal assistance attendants to have successfully completed first aid training before taking up their duties.

Collaboration Agreement

As part of this collaboration between RQRA and Académie Saint-Bernard, RQRA members will benefit from an exclusive discount on the purchase of these specific training courses by indicating their membership number when registering. This initiative is designed to encourage and facilitate access by RQRA member residences to quality training that meets current regulatory requirements. Indeed, this agreement will enable personal assistance attendants to easily comply with new regulations, while reinforcing their skills to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Conclusion

Together, RQRA and Académie Saint-Bernard are working hand in hand to raise quality standards in Quebec's seniors' residences. This collaborative agreement illustrates our shared determination to ensure a safe, caring and respectful environment for our seniors, thereby helping to make our society a better place in which to grow old.

This approach is part of a dynamic of constant improvement, in which the quality of care and well-being of our residents remain at the heart of our concerns.

Together, let's build a future where every senior can live with dignity and peace of mind.
