Bilingual

The Powerheart G5 AED is the first Health Canada cleared AED to feature bilingual (English and French) functionality.

Once touch enables the user to switch between English and French without the need to delay or restart rescue prompting.

Powerheart AED G5 Automatic

Easy, intuitive operation and user-paced prompts enable first-time rescuers to quickly and confidently use this fully automatic AED in a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.

Powerheart AED G5 Semi-Automatic

Like you, the Powerheart G5 Semi-Automatic is ready to respond and knows how to perform when every second counts during a sudden cardiac arrest emergency.

Intellisense CPR Feedback Device

Intellisense CPR Feedback is the only CPR aid of its kind to combine compression rate and depth corrections to the 2015 AHA and ERC CPR Guidelines, quick and easy functionality and Rescue Ready reliability. When lives are on the line, you need an intelligent CPR device in your hands.

Simple to Prep, Simple to Use

Experienced and first-time responders can now easily perform effective CPR. Simple place-and-press functionality requires no complicated preparation or product assembly, while a non-slip surface and oblong shape ensures steady placement during CPR.

Smart Technology

Motion sensor technology – the same technology used on most smart phones – provides rescuers with immediate voice prompts if their CPR compression rate and depth are outside the 2015 AHA-acceptable parameters.

Press Harder and Fully Release

Our proprietary algorithm monitors chest compression rate and depth for effectiveness.  When needed, voice and text feedback indicate when compression depth needs adjustment. “Press harder and fully release” if compressions are shallow; and an emphasis on recoil. “Press softer” if compressions are too hard.

Intellisense battery

A single Intellisense battery is all that is needed to power your Powerheart G5 AED. This dependable battery is tested rigorously at Cardiac Science and then tested each day it is installed in your Powerheart G5 AED for presence and functionality to ensure readiness. Using patented Rescue Ready technology and embedded circuitry, your Intellisense battery communicates performance condition, age, storage temperature and other vital information directly to your Powerheart G5. Once Intellisense supplies are installed in your Powerheart G5 AED delivers years of unmatched performance. In fact, each Intellisense AED Battery comes with a four ( 4 ) year performance guarantee.

12VDC, 9.2 g lithium content (approximate)

Powerheart G5 AED Semi-Rigid Carry Case

This semi-rigid carry case with adjustable shoulder strap provides additional protection for your Powerheart G5 AED, and makes it easy for a rescuer in a hurry to retrieve and transport the unit and other needed Ready items. The case provides a “D-ring” on the side to attach the Powerheart Ready Kit, and the back pocket provides extra storage for additional pads, and other needed items. The design ensures that the Rescue Ready indicator and the pads’ expiration date are clearly visible at all times.

Adjustable strap included.

Intellisense CPR defibrillation pads for adults

Intellisense CPR defibrillation pads for adults include all the features of the Intellisense Defibrillation Pads and an integrated CPR Feedback Device. The CPR Device, when used with the Powerheart G5, provides rescuer real-time CPR feedback to ensure effective chest compression rate and depth. No complicated instructions or special preparation required. Using the Intellisense CPR Feedback Device is as simple as placing the sensor on the victim’s chest and performing chest compressions.

2 year shelf life

Defibrillation pads for adults

Adult Intellisense defibrillation pads are stored preconnected to the AED; a technology originally developed by Cardiac Science to expedite the rescue process. The pads can be placed in either position on the chest to reduce confusion and save time during a rescue. Using patented Rescue Ready technology and embedded circuitry, Intellisense defibrillation pads communicate presence, functionality, patient type, energy and CPR protocol, pad expiration, and other vital information directly to your Powerheart G5.

2 year shelf life

Intellisense pediatric defibrillation pads

Intellisense Pediatric Defibrillation Pads are recommended for patients 8 years of age or younger or weighing less than 55 pounds (25kg). They are non polarized–can be placed in either position on the chest, reducing confusion and saving time during a rescue. Pediatric pads may also be placed on the chest and back. Using the pad connector embedded circuitry, the Powerheart G5 quickly and automatically detects the pediatric pad and automatically adjusts to pediatric energy protocols and CPR requirements.

2 year shelf life

Data cable. USB (A-to-A)

Powerheart G5 USB (A-to-A) Communication cable for data exchange and configuration of your Powerheart G5 via PC. Note: One cable provided with Powerheart G5 at time of purchase.

Characteristics

Prepared

With daily, weekly and monthly self-checks the Powerheart G5 AED tests the critical components so that it’s always ready to be used.

Worldly

While all AEDs have voice prompts to guide rescuers through a cardiac emergency, the G5 has the ability to perform in two different languages. The Powerheart G5’s RescueCoach user-paced instructions can be changed on the fly without interrupting the rescue process. The Powerheart G5 comes with dual language capabilities in English and French.

Fast

The G5 AED is capable of delivering a shock in under 10 seconds post CPR. This means there is less waiting in between CPR and having a shock delivered to the patient which can increase survival rates.

Adaptive

The Intellisense Adult Defibrillation Electrode Pads can now be bundled with the CPR Feedback Device provides real-time feedback on chest compressions (depth and rate). Along with the G5’s RescueCoach instruction, the feedback device will make it easier for anyone to provide high quality chest compressions.

Flexible

The Powerheart G5’s RescueCoach technology can set the level of guidance depending on who is using the device. Whether its first responders, lay rescuers or anything in between, pacing can be adjusted based on the rescuers level of training.

Connectable

The ability to download post-event data for analysis is essential to any AED following a rescue. The Powerheart G5 allows the data to be easily transferred directly from the device via USB.

Rugged

The Powerheart G5 AED has an IP55 resistance rating. It is designed to withstand dust and water, and is one of the only AEDs to offer this level of environmental protection. The device can withstand drops of up to 1.22 meters high and also meets rigorous military standards for shock and vibration testing.

Reliable

The Powerheart G5 is backed by an 8 year device warranty and a 4 year full battery replacement guarantee.

Cardiac Science Powerheart AEDs support 2015 Heart & Stroke Foundation CPR Guidelines

In 2015, the Heart and Stroke Foundation released the 2015 Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). The new guidelines are based on evidence-based findings from the global resuscitation community who assessed thousands of peer-reviewed publications.

What does this mean for my Cardiac Science AED?

It’s great news for Cardiac Science Powerheart AED owners and further illustrates our commitment to designing AEDs that support the Heart and Stroke Foundation Guidelines. Specifically Powerheart® G5 owners: Your AED supports the 2015 Guidelines.

Highlights of the 2015 guidelines

The release of new guidelines include a number of recommendations to improve the quality of CPR and ECC outcomes:

Importance of maintaining CPR compression rate of 100 – 120 / bpm.

Ensuring a CPR chest compression depth of approximately 2 inches (5 cm) while avoiding excessive depths greater than approximately 2.4 inches (6 cm).

Full chest wall recoils when the sternum returns to its natural or neutral position during the decompression phase of CPR.

It may be reasonable to use audiovisual feedback devices during CPR for real-time optimization of CPR performance.
